Streams of Knowledge – National Scientists’ Day 2019 National Celebration

This is the fourth edition of the annual Streams of Knowledge conference cycle that pays tribute to José Mariano Gago, on the day of his birth. The National Scientists' Day was established by a Resolution of the Portuguese parliament *, to celebrate and recognize the relevant and innovative historical contribution of the scientific community to the advancement of knowledge, and thus to the progress and welfare of society.

Programme

10:00 - 14:00 SCIENCE FESTIVAL

Teatro Micaelense Square

Expolab – Centro Ciência Viva, in collaboration with the Science Centres of the Azores, will promote among other activities, observations of the Sun, demonstrations of the deep sea and the launching of “mini rockets”, with the special collaboration of invited researchers. The activities culminate with a “chain reaction” organized by students from Ponta Delgada schools, welcoming the participants of the fourth edition of the annual Streams of Knowledge conference cycle.
